I am trained as a fashion designer with a focus on garment construction and pattern making. I have focused on knitwear, which provides an opportunity to create both the fabric and shape, since 1993. I spend my days thinking, writing, researching, and designing all things knitwear -- from the perfect cast on to the best way to communicate what I have to share. I want to share what I have learned so you can have the knitting or designing life you want for yourself. I want you to feel the same passion and satisfaction and I endeavor to communicate it all with a sense of humor and fun.

I taught line development and portfolio development classes (among others!) at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising for 16 years, and was an award-winning faculty member. Fit, sizing, and proportion fill my view of garment design so I teach grading, fit and design. I cannot quit designing, so I have a line of knitting patterns and eBooks. I am co-author, and illustrator, of YNotKnit: Step-by-step instructions for Continental knitting and knitting basics. My website is filled with information you can use.
